How does your child learn new skills?

Action Lab FAQ

Q: What age groups do you study?
A: We observe babies from 6 - 39 months of age.

Q: How long do the studies take?
A: Our studies take from 60 - 120 minutes. Some of our studies track infants over several weeks or months.

Q: Who runs the studies?
A: Dr. Karen Adolph and Dr. Catherine Tamis-LeMonda are the principal investigators of the studies. Professors, highly trained graduate and undergraduate students, and research scientists conduct all studies.

Q: Can I get results?
A: Of course. We can send you information in terms of group averages when the study has been completed. For information on current studies in our lab you can refer to our Parent Newsletter.

Q: Do you provide general information about infant development?
A: Yes. When you visit, we provide you with information about locomotor development and motor milestones.

Q: Can parents participate?
A: Yes. In some of our studies we ask parents to participate.
