Research
Dr. Carr is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at the New York University School of Medicine. He is Director of the Postdoctoral Training Program in Drug Abuse Research and a translational research program leader in the Center of Excellence on Addiction. Dr. Carr’s laboratory investigates the relationship between CNS mechanisms that regulate ingestive behavior and drug abuse, with a particular interest in neuroadaptations induced by food restriction that increase the reward magnitude of abused drugs and increase vulnerability to binge-eating.
Dr. Carr recently received an Independent Investigator Award from NARSAD (National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression)
