ResearchI received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from NYU in 1975. My recent publications have been on the topic of dissociation: "Desperately Seeking Attachment: A Psychoanalytic Reframing of Harsh Superego" in Dissociation, 1997; "Masochism: A Bridge to the Other Side of Abuse" in Dissociation, 1997; "Masochism: A Response to Trauma in Treatment Today,1997; "Dissociation in Masochism and Psychopathic Sadism", Contemporary Psychoanalysis, 1996. My co-edited book, Women and Mental Health (Basic Books), was published in 1981. I also hold a certificate in psychoanalysis from The Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy; and in the Spring of 1999 was on the faculty of a conference sponsored by the Psychoanalytic Association of that institute on "Revolution in Psychoanalysis: Re-Appraising Authority, Gender, Race and Sexuality, 1995-2000." I have been a speaker on topics of women, gender and psychopathology at numerous associations including APA. NYSPA (New York State Psychological Association), Westchester Psychological Association.
