My research focuses on the effect of motivation to justify the socioeconomic system on denial of environmental problems, such as ecological destruction and global warming, and resistance to implementing imperative pro-environmental changes to the status quo.
In addition, I conduct research on the processes and consequences of system justification for self and group attitudes among immigrants and low status group members.
Finally, I am interested in understanding the relationship between implicit and explicit manifestations of system justification, and the moderating role of people’s motivation to control system justifying reactions.
