Research
In 1994 I received my Ph.D. from Princeton University in the field
of psychology of decision making. Since then, I have been both conducting
applied research as well as teaching in academia. My specialization
is in understanding the cognitive and social factors which impact
people's decisions. I apply this knowledge to my work in market
and opinion research, and in turn, utilize the knowledge from my
applied experience to my teachings at NYU. In 1999 I founded an
applied research firm called Insight Research Group that focuses
on understanding how people (consumers, viewers, employees, etc)
make decisions in the "real-world". I am currently particularly
interested in integrating the academic literature on the psychology
of decision making into the applied realm.
