Welcome

How do infants learn about language and the world around them? Here at the NYU Infant Cognition and Communication Lab, we explore how infants discover that speech is a special sound that allows humans to communicate. We are particularly interested in how infants distinguish between nonsense sounds and speech, humans and other animals, and their own and others' minds.

We invite you to join us in discovering how children think and learn by participating in one of our studies. In our studies, parents are always with their children, while children are engaged in a safe, fun, multimedia activity.
