Research

After graduating from Austin College in Sherman, TX, I worked for a year as a behavioral science research assistant at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where I studied the psychophysiological effects of nicotine deprivation in smokers using startle eye blink response, GSR, and environmental mood assessment. I am currently working toward my Master's in Psychology with a specialization in biopsychology here at NYU. In the Phelps lab I have been collaborating with Mauricio Delgado, Ph.D., studying emotional regulation of reward processes, with Sonya Dougal, Ph.D., studying the physiological correlates of emotional stimuli, and with Tali Sharot studying the encoding and recognition of emotional memories. In the future I am interested in studying the cognitive and emotional sequelae of and rehabilitation following traumatic brain injury and stroke.
