People and Research

I received my BA in psychology and biology from Bard College and began my PhD in Social Psychology at NYU in 2010, working with Professor Jay Van Bavel, Professor Yaacov Trope, and Professor David Amodio. I am broadly interested in social perception and cognition, identity, and intergroup processes. In my main line of research, I try to understand intergroup relations and interactions by exploring how high-level social psychological constructs can alter low-level cognitive and perceptual processes. With Dr. Trope, I explore whether prioritizing certain aspects of one’s identity could facilitate performance, and how different construal mindsets could modulate flexible identity prioritization.
